The Maryland Commission of Real Estate Appraisers and HomeInspectors has evaluated thirty home inspection curriculumssubmitted for consideration to the be recognized as approved homeinspection pre-licensing training for licensure in the State ofMaryland. All of the curriculums have been accepted based on thefollowing agreement and conditions:
Any individual who has taken a home inspection trainingprogram in the past that has any topics included that do not meetthe minimum required 48 hours of pre-licensing education asprescribed by the provision of the law under the BusinessOccupation and Professions Article, Annotated Code of Maryland,Section 16-3A-03 of technical core education by falling below 48hours but not less than 32 hours will be required to supplementtheir hours with the Maryland supplemental 16-hour course. Listedbelow are examples of home inspection course topics that wouldresult in having to take the Maryland 16-hour supplementalcourse.
Any individual who has taken a home inspection trainingprogram that falls below 32 hours will have to retake a 48-hourprogram. Continuing education will not be accepted as asubstitute for the minimum 48-hour program or the 16-hourMaryland supplemental course.
