Texas Home Inspector Regulations

Texas Licensure ( Title 113A, Article 6573a, Section 23) enacted in 1991.

The Texas licensure law, the Real Estate License Act, provides for the examination of home inspectors and established continuing education requirements. These and otherrequirements are contained in the Texas Administrative Code, Subchapter R, Rules. The law also requires home inspector applicants to work as apprentice inspectors under the supervision of a professional licensed homeinspector. If an applicant is unable to obtain an apprenticeship, educational course work and an examination can be substituted. Home inspectors are regulated by the Texas Real Estate Licensing Board.
